Sogol is a registered Psychotherapist with college of Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO) and a Certified Canadian Counsellor with Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Her practice is under supervision of Dr. Augustine Meier, clinical psychologist and the president of the Institute for Self In Relationship Psychotherapy. Sogol received her Undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of Ottawa, and earned her Masters in Counselling & Spirituality from a joint program at Saint Paul University and the University of Ottawa.
Counselling Psychotherapy and Academic experiences
Sogol has been working in the mental health field for over a decade, in the areas of counselling, treatment, research and education. Prior to beginning her private practice she was seeing clients at Saint Paul University and at the Center for Couples, Individuals and Families for various mental health challenges as an intern. In addition, Sogol is a frequent lecturer at Algonquin College and has been the Coordinator of the Crisis Management, Human Psychology program since 2012. She is a published author in academic journals with a focus on Attachment theory as well an occasional producer of a Mental Health Radio show in Ottawa for the Iranian Community.
Personal Approach To Counselling Psychotherapy As each individual is unique, Sogol's approach is always tailored to the needs of each person by providing a non-judgmental space for clients to reflect on their vulnerabilities in a professional environment. In addition, she provides theoretically informed and culturally responsive counselling interventions. Moreover, Sogol has a solid background in Psychodynamic, Object-Relations, Self-In Relationship Psychotherapy, Attachment theory, CBT, DBT and Solution Focused Therapy. As well, Sogol attends continuing education workshops and seminars on a regular basis both nationally and internationally.
